How I got First Class Honors

No secret: a system. I caught every lecture the day it went up, kept one folder per course, and turned each lecture into practice with AI. Scroll through it.

AI grew my skills. It never did my work.

Every quiz, lab, project and exam was mine: I answered every question myself. I used AI like a strict tutor, to drill me, explain what I missed and show me where I was weak.

What AI did

  • Turned each lecture into questions
  • Explained the parts I got wrong
  • Put a whole lecture on one page

What I did

  • Answered every question myself
  • Wrote every lab, project and report
  • Sat every exam on my own

First ClassHonorsUmm Al-Qura University · 2026
  1. 1I kept Blackboard open and caught every new slide, lab and homework the day it went up.
  2. 2Everything went into one folder per course on my PC: slides, labs, homeworks, past exams.
  3. 3Then I turned each lecture into practice with ChatGPT, NotebookLM, Gemini and Claude.
  4. 4I practised until the quizzes were easy: between classes, on the way home, the night before.
  5. 5Four years of that: a 3.81 GPA and First Class Honors.

The result

3.81cumulative GPA out of 4.00

How a lecture became practice

Re-created from my real course files: the same lectures, question banks and formats I studied with.

Here are your questions, ready for your quiz app:

Which activity tracks changes to agreed requirements?|A. Requirements management|B. Elicitation|C. Prototyping|D. Validation|E. Hint: It starts once the requirements are agreed.|A
Configuration control is mainly about __________.|A. Writing use cases|B. Approving and tracking changes|C. Interviewing stakeholders|D. Estimating cost|E. Hint: Think change requests and baselines.|B
Which of these is a reference model for requirements management?|A. CMMI|B. UML|C. SQL|D. HTTP|E. Hint: It rates how mature a process is.|A
ChatGPT: questions in my quiz app's format. One line per question with a hint on E, so they went straight into my exam simulator.

What diagrams can we use to present the product scope?

A context diagram, a use-case diagram, a feature tree and an ecosystem map. 34

NotebookLM: every lecture in one notebook. A podcast-style overview for the way home, and answers that point back to the slide they came from.

Merge sort in 90 seconds

Split the list in half until each part has one item, then merge them back in order.

SplitMergeWhy n log n
Gemini: short explainer videos. For the parts the slides made hard, like why merge sort is n log n.
